The relevant part of the competition for the majority of the UK Cybernetics Club members is the '3D Open Competition'. This is also the section where the level of technology is likely to be the highest because it is open to anyone world-wide, so expect some fierce competition for the coveted Brass Cheese Trophy and cash prizes. The aim is to create a self contained robot initially capable of negotiating a maze and to then progressively develop its ability to compete for the shortest possible time to the centre. The Mouse is a device with a chassis, drive motors to move it, a steering and turning method, sensors to detect the presence or absence of walls, a computer and peripheral circuits to oversee the action and solve the maze. You can view the competition rules HERE.
